Missouri Soybeans supports Vicky Hartzler for U.S. Senate

JEFFERSON CITY – The Missouri Soybean Association (MSA) selected Missouri Rep. Vicky Hartzler to fight for the agricultural industry at a national scale as the state’s U.S. Senate candidate.

The Association is led by a group of service minded, farmer-leaders who strive to lead Missouri soybean producers into the future through legislative advocacy, communication and outreach.

“Our selection of the congresswoman felt like a true representation of our Association’s mission,” said Matt Wright, MSA president. “Her background and rich history in agriculture position her to make a swift and immediate impact in Washington D.C on behalf of all of our growers in Missouri.”

Hartzler has been a long-time champion of the soybean industry in both J.C. and D.C. As a farmer herself, Hartzler understands the opportunities and threats to the agricultural industry. Hartzler has fought on behalf of the soybean farmer for decades on several issues facing our sector including the egregious overreach in the Waters of the United States (WOTUS) rules, pushing the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for science-based approaches and prioritizing the protection against increases in the estate tax and removal of the Stepped-up Basis considerations.

“I am honored to receive this endorsement from the Missouri Soybean Association and join with them to ensure our farm and ranch families can continue providing American consumers with the safest, most affordable food supply in the world,” Hartzler said. “As a lifelong farmer, who raises soybeans myself, I know this industry better than anyone in this race, and I look forward to partnering with the agriculture community from across the state to ensure rural Missouri’s voice is heard in the U.S. Senate.”

The Missouri Soybean Association is a statewide membership organization working to increase the profitability of Missouri soybean farmers through advocacy and education efforts across the state. To learn more, explore mosoy.org.
