A funeral will be held Saturday, May 21, 2022 for 91-year-old Leona M. Buch of Red Bud, Illinois, who passed away at 6:11 am, Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Red Bud Regional Hospital, Red Bud, Illinois.
She was born July 23, 1930 in Red Bud, Ill., the daughter of William and Martha (nee Nagel) Buch, who both preceded her in death.
Leona married Gilbert “Gib” Buch on June 13, 1959 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Red Bud (Prairie), Illinois; he preceded her in death on February 12, 2020.
She is survived by a daughter: Jana (Drew) Buch-McCoy St. Ann, Mo.; a grandson: William (Ashley) McCoy St. Ann, Mo.; two great grandsons: Oliver and Parker McCoy; two sisters: Margaret (Don) Blankenship of Durant, Okla. and Marie Everding of Red Bud, Ill.; a brother: LeVern (Laverne) Buch of Lenzburg, Ill.; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was also preceded in death by a brother: Victor Buch and three sisters: Dorothy Kruse, Norma Kruse and Anita Koester.
She worked in the housekeeping department at a nursing home in Red Bud, Illinois for over 15 years.
She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Red Bud (Prairie), Illinois.
She enjoyed working in her garden, completing crossword puzzles, and watching hummingbirds and St. Louis Cardinals baseball.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2022 and 10-11 a.m. Saturday May 21, 2022 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Red Bud (Prairie), Illinois.
A funeral service for 91-year-old Leona M. Buch of Red Bud, Illinois, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 21, 2022 at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Red Bud (Prairie), Illinois. The Rev. Scott Hojnacki will officiate.
Interment will be in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Red Bud (Prairie), Illinois
