Illinois Manufacturers’ Association welcomes new board members

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. – The Illinois Manufacturers’ Association (IMA) has named two new members to its Board of Directors, building on a strong record of leadership on behalf of manufacturers across the state.

 

“We are excited that these experienced industry leaders came forward to serve and contribute to the success of manufacturers who serve as the backbone of our state’s economy,” said Mark Denzler, president and CEO of the IMA. “We look forward to the impactful contributions they will make as we work together to advance our industry and create more jobs and bring additional investment to Illinois.”

The two new board members for the Illinois Manufacturers’ Association are:

 

John T. Frederick (The Boeing Company): Frederick is the Director, State & Local Government Operations at The Boeing Company, a leading global aerospace company that develops, manufactures and services commercial airplanes, defense products and space systems for customers in more than 150 countries. His responsibilities include representing the company at the local and state levels of government in all legislative, administrative and public agency matters. Frederick joined Boeing in 1988 as a buyer for the KC-135 program and in 1989 joined the government affairs organization where he served as the Government Affairs Administrator and Government Affairs Manager before he was named as the Director of State & Local Government Operations in 2006.

Frederick holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree in Political Science from Wichita State University. He is also a graduate of the Public Affairs Institute and he currently serves on the boards of the Associated Industries of Missouri and the Leadership Council of Southwestern Illinois.

 

Pedro Rosario (Abbott Laboratories): Rosario is Division Vice President, Corporate Engineering at Abbott, a global company that creates breakthrough products in diagnostics, medical devices, nutrition and branded generic pharmaceuticals that help families and communities lead healthier lives. Rosario is a seasoned leader with more than 25 years of operations and engineering experience in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, diagnostics products, and the food industry at Abbott, Johnson & Johnson and Mondelez International. His broad-based expertise includes operations and engineering strategy and execution, continuous improvement, plant management, third-party manufacturers management, and regional and global roles including seven new plant start-ups. Rosario joined Abbott in 2015 and his leadership roles include Director, Capital & Asset Management Strategy in Global Engineering Services, Director Libre Expansion in Abbott Diabetes Care, Senior Director Expansion Strategy for the Infectious Disease Developed Market business unit in Abbott Rapid Diagnostics and more recently Division Vice President Corporate Engineering. An enthusiast of building high-performance teams and talent development along with diversity and inclusion initiatives, Rosario has a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaguez and a master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of New Orleans. He has Marketing, Business, and Leadership certificates from Northwestern University, Berkeley University and Rutgers University. He has served on many industry panels, and he is a Certified Project Management Professional.
