CHESTER, Ill. – The Randolph County Coroner’s Office has announced the death of an inmate at the Menard Correctional Center.
According to a news release, 24-year-old Jesus Hernandez was pronounced at 6:312 p.m. April 29, 2022.
The news release stated “The death appears to be self- inflicted; cause of death is pending autopsy and toxicology. No foul play is suspected and security and staff was not compromised.”
The case is being investigated by the Randolph County Coroner’s Office and Illinois Department of Corrections.
