Sam Loida will attend the USAF Academy

STE. GENEVIEVE — A Valle Catholic High School senior who has been named valedictorian of the class of 2022 has just learned she will be attending the United States Air Force Academy in the fall.

Samantha Rose Loida is the daughter of Mike ’77 and Cindy Loida.

She is the youngest of four to graduate from Valle Catholic.

Her siblings are Carl ’16, Christian ’18 and Rachel ’20.

The appointment to the USAF Academy is valued at over $415,000.

She plans to major in behavioral sciences or biology.

She was also granted appointments to West Point, the Naval Academy, and the Coast Guard Academy. She was also granted a Navy ROTC Scholarship at Texas A&M, valued at $200,000. Sam was also accepted at the University of Notre Dame and Clemson University.

A school official stated “Sam exemplifies the strength of a Warrior and is ‘all in’ in everything she does. She is a Three for Four Athlete, playing volleyball, basketball and track all four years of high school.”

Sam said, “Valle Catholic’s science and math courses and faculty challenged me to become a better student by requiring that I develop good study habits and time management skills. I am grateful for the tough classes I took in high school because I know they will prepare me for the rigors of college curriculum.”
