Zeno E. Amschler

A funeral will be held Thursday, April 21, 2022 for 82-year-old Zeno E. Amschler of Perryville, Mo. who passed away Friday, April 15, 2022.

He was born August 3, 1939 in Perryville, Mo. the son of Walter H. and Regina A. (Winschel) Amschler, who both preceded him in death.

Zeno married Faye Carolyn Gibbar April 8, 1961 at Church of the Assumption in Perryville, Mo. and were blessed with 61 years of marriage.

Survivors include a daughter: Michelle (Robert “Bob”) Clifton of Perryville, Mo.; two sisters: Finian (Donald) Boesch of Perryville, Mo., and Mildred (Allie) Moll of Perryville, Mo.; a granddaughter: Tiffany (Gary) Schneier of Perryville, Mo.; a grandson: Myles Clifton (Sarah Coyne) of Perryville, Mo.; a great-grandson, Jake Schneier and seven nieces.

 

He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church Perryville.

In 1953, Zeno Amschler went to work for Quentin Klaus at Klaus Jewelers washing windows/sweeping sidewalk, then learning how to repair watches and other jewelry.

 

Zeno then attended diamond setting school and casting school.

 

In 1982 Mr. Klaus sold Klaus Jewelers in the Perry Plaza to Zeno and Faye Amschler, who still own the store.

 

Klaus Jewelers is now in its 70th year of business serving the people of Perry County.

He was a 1957 graduate of St. Vincent de Paul High School and loved getting together with his classmates at class reunions.

 

Zeno was a classic car enthusiast, who enjoyed building them and taking them to car shows.

 

He enjoyed black powder shooting, building muzzle loaders, hunting and trout fishing at Montauk State Park with his family.

Visitation will be Thursday April 21, 2022 from 7:30-9:30 a.m. at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.

A funeral mass for 82-year-old Zeno E. Amschler of Perryville will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday April 21, 2022 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville with Fr. Ben Melaku, C.M. officiating.

Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Perryville at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent Educational Foundation.
