A funeral will be held Monday, April 18, 2022 for 74-year-old Timothy George Conley, who passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2022.
He was born July 3, 1947, son of the late Robert Charles Conley and Dorothy Conley (nee Schmidt), step-son of Jeanne Marie Conley, brother of Robert Conley, Jr., Joan Medley, Dennis Conley and the late Jean Pace and Dorothy Ann Collins.
Dedicated over fifty years to the field of historic preservation and personally undertook the restoration of five historic properties in Missouri including: Blair Huse McAvoy Mansion in the Lafayette Square neighborhood in St. Louis; Ste Genevieve Academy; the Edward G. McQuie House in Louisiana Missouri; The Jean Baptiste Valle House in Ste Genevieve; the Antoine Aubuchon House in Ste Genevieve.
In 1974, he published Lafayette Square: An Urban Renaissance.
From 1999 to 2006, he served on the Ste. Genevieve Historic Landmarks Commission and chaired the commission from 2001 to 2006.
He served on the Missouri Advisory Council on Historic Preservation from 2002 to 2006, and chaired the council from 2003 to 2006.
He also served on the board of directors for Missouri Preservation.
In 2020, he received the Missouri Preservation Honor Award for his significant contributions in the field of historic preservation in Missouri.
Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2022 at the Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve, Mo.
A funeral for 74-year-old Timothy George Conley will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 18, 2022 in the Basler Funeral Home. The Rev. Edward Nemeth will officiate.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.
