Special exhibits, new art will be on display during this month’s Ste. Genevieve 4th Friday Art Walk

STE. GENEVIEVE – Ste. Genevieve’s April 4th Friday Art Walk on April 22 will be bigger and better than ever and will kick off the Sainte Genevieve Art Guild’s weekend-long celebration of the accomplishments of John James Audubon, who lived in the historic town for a brief time.

An art exhibit by Guild members titled “Inspired by Nature” and exhibit materials related to the naturalist artist will be on display at Guild headquarters at 310 Merchant on the Courthouse Square. Plus visitors can share a cake marking his 237th birthday. (Other Audubon events, including the premiere of a musical play based on Audubon’s life and words, are planned on Saturday and Sunday. For details visit artstegen.org.)

Also on the Courthouse Square Valle Catholic High School is holding its Spring Art Show in the DuBourg Gallery (upstairs at the DuBourg building in the 300 block of Merchant Street). The student art show will be open from 3-9 p.m.

Silver Sycamore Gallery says it will have ‘some beautiful new works displayed.” Plus, visitors who go upstairs can “get a peek” at the Charles Rhinehart and Art Colony masterpieces.
