PERRY/STE. GENEVIEVE CO. — Voters in Perry and Ste. Genevieve County are going to the polls today to vote in the municipal and school election.
Perry County School District No. 32:
Among the items on the ballot, candidates for school board in Perry County School District:
Incumbent board member Richard (Rich) Dix filed for re-election.
Glendon Sattler, Roger Sample and Dominic Blythe filed for a three-year term.
Chris Congiardo, Casey Brewer and Melissa Hahn filed for a one-year term.
City of Perryville:
There is a three way race for Perryville mayor. The incumbent, Ken Baer and two challengers: Larry Riney, and Kenny Tucker.
One incumbent Perryville city aldermen faces opposition: Prince E. Hudson is being challenged by Clinton Rice.
All of the other incumbents at city hall who filed for re-election are unopposed: Direk L. Hunt for City Marshal, Tom Guth for Alderman Ward 1, Curt Buerck for Alderman Ward 2.
Perry County Memorial Hospital Board
Three candidates are seeking a five-year term to the Perry County Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees. They are: Stephen Rozier, Robin Huber Sims and William “Bill” Bohnert.
City of Ste. Genevieve
In Ste. Genevieve, three of the four incumbent city aldermen, whose terms expire this month are unopposed for re-election: Robert Donovan in Ward 2, Jeff Eydmann in Ward 3 and Joe Prince in Ward 4.
Newcomer Kristi Cleghorn filed for Ward 1 alderman and has no opposition.
The fourth incumbent, Gary Smith in Ward 1 did not file for re-election.
Ste. Genevieve School District R-II
Six newcomers have filed for the two open seats on the Ste. Genevieve R-II Board of Education since incumbents Richard Rudloff and Terrry McDaniel chose not to run again.
The six candidates are: Jamie Ballew, Michael Stoll, Larry Pfaff, Joshua Gettinger, Samuel Barbagallo and Brad Arnold. The top two vote getters will be seated on the board.
Also on the ballot in the Ste. Genevieve school district is Proposition SG, a no-tax increase bond issue for a number of projects, including construction of a pre-school center.
