WASHINGTON, D.C. – Representatives Ann Wagner (R-MO), Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA), David Trone (D-MD), and Brad Schneider (D-IL), Co-Chairs of the Abraham Accords Caucus, have sent a letter to Secretary of State Antony Blinken urging him to use his upcoming trip to the Middle East and North Africa to advance the Abraham Accords and the Israel Relations Normalization Act.
The members said:
“We, the House Co-Chairs of the bipartisan, bicameral Abraham Accords Caucus, welcome reports that you plan to travel to the Middle East and North Africa next week and are especially pleased that you will participate in a summit with representatives from the member states of the Abraham Accords. The Abraham Accords have transformed this region, bringing about peace and normalization agreements between Israel and several Arab states—the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco. The Accords have enhanced Israel’s security, created economic opportunities for Arab states, and advanced vital U.S. national security interests. We appreciate your commitment to the Abraham Accords and therefore, given the recent enactment of the Israel Relations Normalization Act on March 15, 2022, respectfully ask that you prioritize efforts to deepen and expand the Abraham Accords and jumpstart implementation of the Israel Relations Normalization Act during your travel in the region.”
