Missouri REALTORS® Market Statistics Report | February 2022

COLUMBIA– Missouri REALTORS® is pleased to share a monthly statistics report highlighting the Missouri real estate market for the month of February.

 

In February, Missouri REALTORS® sold 5,142 residential properties. Of those sales, the average residential property sold for $257,877. Compared to the average sale price of $243,948 in February 2021, there was a 5.7 percent increase. The median residential sale price also increased from $195,000 in 2021 to $215,000 in 2022. 

 

In terms of total dollar volume, Missouri REALTORS® saw an increase of 0.1 percent compared to the same period last year. Over $1.326 billion in February of 2022 was generated compared to $1.324 billion in February of 2021.

 

Additionally, interest rates saw an increase in February but continue to remain historically low. According to Freddie Mac, the national average commitment rate for a 30-year, conventional, fixed-rate mortgage was 3.76 percent in February compared to 3.45 percent in January. By comparison, the interest rate in February 2021 was 2.81 percent.
