JEFFERSON CITY — A two-year-old St. Mary boy suffered serious injuries in a traffic crash Wednesday morning on Highway 72 in Cape Girardeau County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the child was taken to St. Louis Children’s Hospital in St. Louis by an Air Evac Helicopter.
The patrol says the child was a passenger in a 2007 Dodge Ram driven by 32-year-old Kelsey C. Bullinger of St. Mary which was struck in the rear by a 2018 Ford F150 driven by 62-year-old Cathy D. Barks of Sedgewickville while both vehicles were eastbound on Highway 72.
Neither driver was hurt in the crash; all three persons were using appropriate safety devices.
The crash happened about 8:54 a.m., three miles west of Jackson.
