Ste. Genevieve Board of Aldermen meets

STE. GENEVIEVE — The Ste. Genevieve Board of Aldermen met in regular session last night.

 

Victoria Dailey, CPA with SIKICH presented the city’s annual audit.

 

Jimmie Donze, Ste. Genevieve Municipal Band President presented the 2021 Muny Band Financial Report.

 

Ron Inman from the New Bourbon Port Authority discussed the need for more money to keep the ferry running.

City Administrator Happy Welch presented his report.

 

Staff reports were presented by Jeff Wix, tourism director; David Bova, community development administrator and Kenny Steiger, fire chief.

 

The aldermen approved the consent agenda, which included liquor licenses for the Save A Lot store at 11306 Save A Lot Drive and Rollin On The River at 291 Merchant Street and two resolutions: a flood buyout maintenance agreement with Scott Beckerman and a surplus item declaration for the old lights from the firehouse.

 

Three public hearings were held:

 

A rezoning of 50 Jefferson Street from industrial district to central business district to allow residential use.

 

A special use permit to allow guest lodging at 555 Cedar Street.

 

A special use permit to allow guest lodging at 1090 Market Street.

 

The aldermen approved a low bid of $23,036 for six inch and eight inch PVC pipe for the 2022 Water Main Replacement Project.

 

The aldermen considered the following measures:

 

Bill No. 4478-A $190,705 contract with Vern Bauman Contracting for the 2022 Street Repaving Program was given first round approval.

 

Bill No. 4479-A $143,054.40 contract with CE Contracting for the replacement of Parkwood Drive concrete was given first round approval.

 

Bill No. 4480-A zoning change from light industrial to central business for 50 Jefferson Street was given first round approval.

 

Bill No. 4481-A special use permit to allow guest lodging at 555 Cedar Lane was given first and second round approval.

 

Bill No. 4482-A special use permit to allow guest lodging at 1090 Market Street was given first and second round approval.

 

Bill No. 4483-An agreement with Ste. Genevieve County for the joint funding of the county rcycling center was given first round approval.

 

Bill No. 4484-The purchase of four sets of turnout gear for the fire department from Sentinel Emergency Solutions for $11,894 was given first and second round approval.

 

All of the final votes were 7-0-1 with Alderman Gary Smith absent.
