Donald O. Telle

A funeral will be held Thursday, March 10, 2022 for 90-year-old Donald O. Telle of Uniontown, Mo who passed away Sunday, March 6, 2022 at The Villas of Jackson Memory Care.

He was born March 17, 1931 in Uniontown, the son of Edwin A. and Agnes C. (Franke) Telle who both preceded him in death.

He is survived by three sons: Jim (Rose) Telle of Uniontown, John (Donna) Telle of Uniontown, and Alan (LaDonna) Telle of Columbia; a sister: Marian Bergman of St. Louis; a brother: Clinton “Tom” (Bev) Telle of Mesa, Arizona; seven grandchildren: Sherry (Glendon) Sattler, Susan (Jeremy) Hetzel, Jason (Tina) Telle, Andrew (Rachael) Telle, Blake (Klaire) Telle, Clara Telle and Luke Telle, and 12 great grandchildren with two more coming soon.

He was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law: Jeanette Telle and a brother-in-law: Carl Bergman.

Donald was a life member of Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown.  He was baptized on March 22, 1931 at Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown, MO.  He was confirmed at Grace Lutheran church on April 3, 1944 and was a 1949 graduate of Perryville High School. 

He served in the United States Army in the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954. 

After his return from service he married Ruth Bingenheimer on May 8, 1954 at Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown, MO.  They were married for 67 years.

He was a life member of the American Legion Post 133, and V.F.W. Post 4282. He also served with the Honor Guard of the American Legion. 

He was a dairy farmer and became the secretay/treasurer of the Arnsberg Farmers Mutual Insurance Company from 1960 until 1996.  He was an agent for Arnsberg Farmers Mutual and Farmers Mutual Hail.  He served on the Board of Directors of Arnsberg Farmers Mutual Insurance Company and on the Board of Directors of First State Community Bank.

Visitation will be from 9-11 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown.

A funeral service for 90-year-old Donald O. Telle of Uniontown will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2022 at Grace Lutheran Church in Uniontown with the Rev. Paul Winningham officiating.

Burial will be at Grace Lutheran Cemetery in Uniontown with military honors provided by the American Legion and the Delta Team.

Memorial contributions may be given to Lutheran Heritage Foundation, Grace Lutheran Church and Crown Hospice.
