A funeral will be held Friday, March 4, 2022 for 71-year-old Richard H. “Rick” Presnell of Perryville, Missouri who passed away Friday, February 25, 2022 at his residence.
He was born August 31, 1950 in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Jessie Darrell and Rose Marie (Bollinger) Presnell, who both preceded him in death.
He married Christy R. Welker January 29, 1972 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville and were blessed with 50 years of marriage.
Survivors include two daughters: Teasha Pohlman (Joshua) of Perryville and Jessica (Cory) Stueve of Cumming, Georgia; two sons: Patrick (Ashly) Presnell of Perryville, Mitchell Presnell (Deanna) of Roy, Utah; a sister: Paula (Jan) Parker of Jackson, Mo.; nine grandchildren: Stuart Pohlman, Andrew (Kimberly) Pohlman, Nicholas Pohlman, Jacob Stueve (Janna), Carter Stueve, Drelynn Presnell, Kabren Presnell, Joel Presnell, and Eve Presnell; and two great grandchildren: Ellie Pohlman, and Olivia Pohlman.
He was also preceded in death by a twin brother: Randy Presnell; his father and mother in law: Joseph “Bud” and Dolly Mae Welker
Rick was a 1968 graduate of Patton High School,
He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.
He graduated as an Emergency Medical Technician from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau.
Rick was a member of the Methodist Faith, VFW Post 4282, AmVets Post 94 and Gold Prospectors Association of America.
He was a certified Master Mason of the Saline Lodge No. 226 AF & AM in St. Mary, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite and a hunter education instructor with the Missouri Department of Conservation.
He served as a deputy for Cape Girardeau County and Perry County Sheriff’s offices.
Rick retired in 2000 after 31 years with General Motors as a paint inspector.
He proudly served as Union President of United Auto Workers Local 2250 from 1996-1999.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, March 3, 2022 and 8-10 a.m. Friday, March 4, 2022 at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville. A Masonic Wake ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Entombment will be at Mary Queen of Heaven Mausoleum in Mount Hope Cemetery in Perryville with Military Honors provided by VFW Post 4282 and the U.S. Air Force Team.
Memorials may be given to the Missouri National Veterans Memorial.
