Treasurer Fitzpatrick recognizes America Saves Week

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. — Missouri State Treasurer Scott Fitzpatrick today recognized America Saves Week, an annual call to action for Americans to save for the future.

This year, in addition to daily social posts highlighting resources to help Missourians reach their financial goals, the Treasurer is partnering with the Office of Administration to share new financial literacy resources with 40,000 state employees. These resources can be accessed via Treasurer Fitzpatrick’s Financial Literacy Portal.

“Over the past two years, we’ve witnessed the pandemic impact not just our daily lives but the economy and our bank accounts. 1-4 Americans indicate they have no emergency savings at all. This is why is it is more important than ever to ensure that Missourians work to get their finances in order and rebuild or increase their savings,” Treasurer Fitzpatrick said. “I am grateful to Commissioner Zellers for working with me to ensure that our state employees receive information about the resources available on the Financial Literacy Portal. I hope all Missourians will visit the portal and get to work improving their financial wellness.”

“America Saves Week is a great opportunity to remind our state team members of the tools and resources available to help set us up for financial success,” Office of Administration Commissioner Ken Zellers said. ”I join Treasurer Fitzpatrick in encouraging Missourians to plan ahead to achieve financial goals. This portal is yet another example of our commitment to excellent customer service.”

The new Financial Wellness Initiative is made possible through a partnership with the National Association of State Treasurers and Enrich.

America Saves Week runs through Saturday, February 26.
