A funeral will be held Monday, February 28, 2022 for 90-year-old Walter S. Ditch of Bloomsdale, Mo. who passed away Sunday, February 20, 2022 in Festus, Mo.
He was born January 13, 1932 in Kinsey, Mo., the son of Andrew Ditch and Margaret (Bauer) Ditch, who both preceded him in death.
He married Delores (Fleeman) Ditch January 22, 1955. She preceded him in death.
He is survived by two daughters: Christine (Michael) Joggerst of Bloomsdale and Lori (Scott Williams) Ditch of Bloomsdale; two sons: Rick (Jill) Ditch of Weingarten, Mo. and Andrew (Shelly) Ditch of Farmington, Mo.; two brothers: William Ditch of the state of Illinois and Ernest Ditch of Bloomsdale; a sister: Alta Cage of Arnold, Mo.; 13 grandchildren: Kylie, Stacey, Brianne, Wade, Celeste, Christine, Catherine, Walter, Leigh Ann, Jillian, Daniel, Chrissy, and Bradley; 22 great-grandchildren: Owen, Macy, Joslyn, Adyson, Easton, Ivy, Beckett, Violet, Michael, Drake, Devon, Catherine, Henry, Ricky, Miles, Jolene, Jack, Daphne, Chloe, Taylor, Azlyn, and Alyssa.
He was also preceded in death by six brothers: M.L. Ditch, Wilfred Ditch, Robert Lee Ditch, Paul Ditch, Dave Ditch, and Milton Ditch; two sisters: Ann Bieller and Margaret Hoover; and a grandson: Dustin Ditch.
Walter loved his wife, children and grand babies. He liked cookies, coffee, and his cows. He enjoyed poking fun at people, story telling, listening to old music, and getting visits from his “customers”.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Monday, February 28, 2022 at the Basler Funeral Home in Ste. Genevieve.
A funeral for 90-year-old Walter S. Ditch of Bloomsdale will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Februrary 28, 2022 at the Basler Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeff Fleeman will officiate.
Burial will be at Concord Cemetery in Bloomsdale.
