COVID-19 numbers continue to fall

JEFFERSON CITY — The number of new COVID-19 cases has fallen in Missouri and locally as well.

According to figures from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, the number of confirmed and probable cases for the seven days ending February 15 was 9,851 which is down 5,008 or 34 percent from the 14,859 which was reported for the seven days ending February 8th.

In Perry County there were 24 new confirmed and probable cases during the seven days ending February 15 which is down 49 percent from the  47 new cases of COVID-19 during the seven days ending Februrary 8th.

In Ste. Genevieve County there were 18 new confirmed and probable cases, which is down 50 percent from the 36 new cases of COVID-19 during the seven days ending February 8th.

The Department of Health and Senior Services reports the state vaccination rate is 55.9 percent. Perry County is 40.4 percent vaccinated and Ste. Genevieve County is 46.6 percent vaccinated.
