CHESTER — CHS Pep Band members Amaya Hannigan and Rylie McDonough pick up trash in Colbert Gymnasium following the CHS vs Red Bud Basketball game Mondy February 14.
With CHS currently facing a strained janitorial staff, Steve Colonel, CHS Band Director and his CHS Pep Band volunteered to pick up trash in the Cym after the conclusion of home basketball games.
With everyone helping, the gym is typically cleared of trash within 15-minutes of most games.
Besides helping keep the gym clean and lessening the load on an already strained janitorial staff, the gesture by the band is teaching students about community service and helping to build ownership of their school. Jim Beers Photo
