A funeral will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 for 100-year-old Robert H. Mueller, of Chester, Illinois, who passed away at 9:52 pm, Wednesday, February 9, 2022 at Memorial Hospital, Chester, Illinois.
He was born July 14, 1921 in Chester, the son of Henry O. and Josephine (nee Bollman) Mueller, who both preceded him in death.
He married Roberta M. Leonard October 15, 1942 in Chester, Illinois; she preceded him in death November 30, 2011.
He is survived by a daughter: Patricia (Robert) Wester of St. Charles, Mo.; a brother: Raymond Mueller of Chester; two grandchildren: Geoffrey (Katherine) Wester of St. Paul, Mo. and Bradley (Nicki) Wester of Florissant, Mo.; and seven great grandchildren: Thomas, Emma, Timothy, John, Eleanora, Lucy and Teddy
He was also preceded in death by four siblings: Paul Mueller, Lois Hirte, Ruby Kopf-Minks and Ralph Mueller.
He had worked as a supervisor at Chester Mental Health Center.
He had also worked at the International Shoe Factory and was a farmer.
He was a World War II Army Veteran.
Robert was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois. He was also a member of the V.F.W. Post No. 3553 in Chester, the American Legion Post No. 480 in Steeleville and was on the St. John Lutheran Cemetery Committee. Robert loved to hunt.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at the Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester and 10-11 a.m. Saturday at St. John Lutheran Church in Chester.
A funeral for 100-year-old Robert H. Mueller, of Chester will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Chester. The Rev. Timothy Sims will officiate.
Interment will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Chester.
Memorials may be made to the St. John Lutheran Cemetery Fund or St. John Lutheran Church.
