Thursday, February 10th, 2022
6:00 PM
- Be it Remembered: A regular meeting of the St. Mary Board of Aldermen was called to order by the Honorable Mayor Carl Wyatt on Thursday, February 10th, 2022 beginning at 6:00 PM at City Hall located at 782 3rd Street, St. Mary, Missouri 63673.
- Pledge of Allegiance: The meeting was opened with the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America.
- Roll Call: Aldermen answering the roll call were Alderman Ron Barnett, Alderman Karl Schultz (arrived 6:06 p.m.), Alderman Dr Zen Duda and Alderman Annette Hacker.
- Agenda: A motion was made by Alderman Annette Hacker to approve the agenda. Alderman Dr. Zen Duda seconded the motion. Alderman Ron Barnett, Alderman Dr Zen Duda and Alderman Annette Hacker voted yea on a voice vote. Motion carried.
- Consent Agenda: A motion was made by Alderman Annette Hacker to approve the Consent Agenda which consists of the following: Minutes from Previous Meeting, Treasurers Report, Collectors Report and Bills Paid and City Manager to pay previously appropriated expenses as they come due as allowed by the budget. Alderman Ron Barnett seconded the motion. Alderman Ron Barnett, Alderman Dr Zen Duda and Alderman Annette Hacker voted yea on a voice vote. Motion carried.
- Public Hearing: Rebekah Roth – St Mary Tornado Relief Concert: Rebekah Roth presented checks totaling $5,319.00 to the Mayor and Board of Aldermen. She put on an event with 11 acts to help our city. Honorable Mayor Carl Wyatt thanked her for her efforts.

NEW BUSINESS
- Approval of Audit: The board discussed the audit findings regarding the budget. A motion was made by Alderman Annette Hacker to approve the audit. Alderman Dr. Zen Duda seconded the motion. Alderman Ron Barnett, Alderman Dr Zen Duda, Alderman Karl Schultz and Alderman Annette Hacker voted yea on a voice vote. Motion carried.
- Tornado Relief Application: The Mayor and Aldermen all recused themselves from being eligible (despite some having damage). The board discussed ways to notify the public and letters will be sent out and a meeting has been scheduled for March 3rd, 2022 at 6:00 p.m.
- Department Reports:
- Emergency Management – Director David Woods reported that he got a request from SEMA to send information about flood DR 4451 again.
- Police Department – The Honorable Mayor Carl Wyatt reported the Chief got hurt and is on Workers Comp. He then gave thanks to the county for their increased presences in town running radar.
- Fire Department – Alderman Annette Hacker gave the floor to Fire Chief Frankie Ullman. Ullman reported there were five calls. Two fire alarms and three mutual aids. He has applied for the Missouri Department of Conservation grant for a fitting for truck 7841. Ullman is also working on a new light bar for truck 7881.
- Street Department – Alderman Ron Barnett reported the plow truck is in the garage with transmission, steering pump and hydraulic pump problems.
- Water / Wastewater Department – Alderman Karl Schultz discussed the raising cost of water and the need to have our sludge hauled off.
- Park / Cemetery / Animal Control – Alderman Dr. Zen Duda had nothing to report.
- Citizens Participation:
Maria Scherer – discussed there being a lot of cats and dogs in town.
Melvin Frelix – discussed the need for more rock and ditch work. He also thanked the Fire and Police Chief for their efforts in response to the tornado.
- Regular Session Adjournment: There being no further business before the board, a motion was made by Alderman Annette Hacker to adjourn at 6:51 p.m. Alderman Karl Schultz seconded the motion. All the aldermen voted yea on a voice vote. Meeting adjourned.
