Superheroes Have a Heart for KIDS fundraiser luncheon

CAPE GIRARDEAU — The Community Counseling Center Foundation will host the Superheroes Have a Heart for Kids Luncheon Thursday, February 17, 2022 at the Drury Plaza Conference Center in Cape Girardeau starting at 11:30 a.m.

The event will raise money for the Community Counseling Center’s Children’s Services Division, including Cottonwood Inpatient Diversion/Residential Treatment, Day Treatment, School Based Counseling, and Outpatient services. Children’s Services helps children ages 5-18 with chronic and persistent mental health disorders avoid psychiatric hospitalization and continue to live within the community.  They provide a place where children can get the support, therapy, and education services they need while avoiding hospitalization.

According to Michelle Ramsey, Executive Director of the Community Counseling Center Foundation, the Superheroes Have a Heart for Kids luncheon was last held in 2020. The event had to be cancelled last year due to COVID. Until the cancellation, the event had seen growing attendance each year since its beginning in 2018.

“We are so thankful to be able to once again hold this community favorite event. Our goal for the Superheroes Have a Heart for Kids fundraising luncheon, is to increase our event attendance and share the wonderful work that is being done throughout our five-county service area once again. This is such a great event, and it’s a luncheon- so we just hope that everyone will come out and support our work we do right here in our community,” Ramsey stated.

Ramsey continued, “Through this event, we will raise much needed funds designated solely to Children’s Services so we can continue to help meeting our youth clients’ needs, while ensuring that the Center can sustain and grow the Children’s Services programs to provide the help needed for our children today and tomorrow.”

The luncheon is open to the public.  Anyone who wants to be a superhero and have a heart for kids is invited to attend.  It is an opportunity for you to be inspired by truly amazing stories of the many lives have been impacted over the years by our healing and helping services. There will also be raffle tickets available to purchase for multiple raffle items at the event. Reservations for the luncheon are suggested.  Individual tickets are $35, and a table 8 is $250, both are available through Eventbrite, or at the door.  There are several sponsorships still available.
