Trailnet bike ride event schedule includes StG Gravel Classic

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Registration is open today for the 2022 Trailnet Classics, a series of multi-distanced, supported bike rides across the greater St. Louis region – including the StG Gravel Classic April 9 in Ste. Genevieve.

These bike rides help fund Trailnet’s work for safer streets for all.

The Trailnet Classics are a collection of fun and safe bike rides with offerings for riders of all ages and abilities. This year includes rides with distances ranging from 4 miles to 106 miles that give riders unique, supported and community-focused experiences on two wheels.

All of the Trailnet Classics include rest stops with food and water, marked routes and maps, turn-by-turn navigation, and support vehicles to help riders in case of mechanical or first aid issues.

“No matter your comfort level, the Trailnet Classics offer you a chance to challenge yourself, enjoy a day on the bike, and explore a new part of the region,” Matt Hartman, Trailnet’s Rides Director said.

“The Trailnet Classics offer riders a unique experience to explore the region on bike while also supporting our work to help communities make it easy and safe for people to walk and bike every day” Cindy Mense, Trailnet’s CEO said.

What’s new this year?

The 2022 ride season includes two new rides for the organization. The first is the StG Gravel Classic, which kicks off the season on April 9 in Ste. Genevieve, Mo. The StG Gravel Classic is a gravel ride featuring 90 percent unpaved, gravel roads throughout the Mississippi River Valley outside of historic Ste. Genevieve.

The second new ride is the Uphill Battle on May 22 in Wildwood, Mo. The Uphill Battle is Trailnet’s most challenging ride to date, featuring routes with grueling climbs and fast descents.

Also new for 2022, Trailnet is offering youth pricing for riders 18 years-old and younger to encourage more young riders and families to participate. Registration for people 18 and younger is $10.
