PCMS students’ work chosen for Children’s Art Festival

PERRYVILLE — Nine Perry County Middle School students have been selected to participate in the 2022 Children’s Arts Festival in Cape Girardeau.

They are Lily McGee, Cheyenne Lawless, Lilly Cowell, Montana Lawless, Jade Reed, Lara Milliano, Abigail Hoff, Alyssa Drescher and Kelly Chavez.

 

Two students received awards for their artwork. Lilly Cowell’s painting entitled “Wildfire” and Abigail Hoff’s artwork entitled “Notan Design” received honorable mentions.

 

“I’m incredibly proud of our students who were invited to exhibit their artwork,” said PCMS art instructor Amber Dunn. “I hope many community members have the opportunity to attend the exhibit to celebrate the creativity of our artists.”

The show opens Friday, Feb. 11 with a reception from 4-8 p.m. at The Arts Council of Southeast Missouri located at 16 N. Spanish Street, Cape Girardeau. The public is invited to view the exhibition on Friday evening, and throughout the month of February on Tuesdays-Fridays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
