A funeral will be held Saturday, February 12, 2022 for 88-year-old Evelyn Ruth Marberry, who passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022.
She was born June 19, 1933, in Farmington the daughter of Paul Watts Vaugh and Zella McDaniel who both preceded her in death.
She married T. Dellon Marberry. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include a son: Mark (Norma) Marberry; step-grandson: Michael Moser; a sister: Carolyn Horton; a sister-in-law: Patricia Marberry; a special aunt: Melba Conrad and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was also preceded in death by a brother: Herbert Vaugh; a sister-in-law: L. Jessaline Nicholson; a brother-in-law: Doyle Nicholson; and a brother-in-law: Donald Marberry.
Evelyn grew up in the Pleasant Hill Community in Ste. Genevieve County.
She graduated from Ste. Genevieve High School as salutatorian.
After high school she worked for the phone company for many years as a telephone operator.
In 1960 Evelyn married the love of her life T. Dellon Marberry.
They enjoyed farm living, raising cattle and gardening.
Evelyn was a stay-at-home mom during her son’s growing up years. Later she worked as a coordinator for SMTS in St. Francois County. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting and working in the yard.
Evelyn will be most remembered for her strong Christian faith. She was a long-time, active member of Pleasant Hill United Baptist Church and Bethel United Baptist Association.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday and 10-11 a.m. Saturday at the Cozean Memorial Chapel.
A funeral for 88-year-old Evelyn Ruth Marberry will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Pleasant Hill United Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Colyott officiating.
Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Memorials, if desired, may be made to Pleasant Hill United Baptist Church or Bethel United Baptist Association.
