MODOC, Illinois — The Kaskaskia Watershed Association’s 21th Annual Summit will be held on March 7, 2022, (9 a.m. – 2 p.m.) at the Mariner’s Village Resort Conference Center in Carlyle, IL. The theme for this year’s Summit is “Maintaining the Kaskaskia System for Generations to Come”.
For 20 years this Summit has brought together diverse speakers to help us understand our water-shed resources and how we plan for their future. After 50 years of managed operation the water-shed system needs some corrective measures. We will identify these and look at implementation, including The Agricultural Precision Conservation Management Program, plus the Corps of Engineers Kaskaskia Watershed Study, recent siltation survey, and future plans. Hear from the leaders on these topics. Also, the U of I Research Team studying watershed change predictions over the next 50 years will report on their results, seek your thoughts, and discuss their future effort.
The Kaskaskia Watershed Association is one of the most active groups in the state. As usual we have invited the elected officials in the Watershed or their representatives to be available for comments and to converse with you on issues that are near and dear to your concerns.
Please join us and register for the Summit, RSVP by February 27, 2022. You can register online at kaskaskiawatershed.wordpress.com or you can mail your registration to Mr. Cal Guthrie, Treasurer.
