A memorial service will be held Friday, February 11, 2022 for 63-year-old Robert G. “Bob” McClanahan of Festus who passed away Jan. 24, 2022, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City.
He was born Aug. 16, 1958, in Festus, the son of Millie (Jokerst) and Roger McClanahan who both preceded him in death.
He is survived by a son: Cory (Tori) McClanahan of Bloomsdale; a daughter: Kadie (Josh) Lott of Bloomsdale; two sisters: Annette (Michael) Hughes of Ste. Genevieve County and Cindy McClanahan of Ste. Genevieve County; two brothers: Paul (Georgia) McClanahan of Ste. Genevieve County and Don (Barb Weiler) McClanahan of Ste. Genevieve County; and three grandchildren: Lawson, Ledger and Leddie Lott.
When Mr. McClanahan was 10, he began working at his family’s grocery store, Shopper’s Market in Bloomsdale.
After his father’s death, he helped his mother manage the store for 26 years.
He later opened Bloomsdale Meat Processing and became known as “Bob the Butcher.”
A memorial service for 63-year-old Robert G. “Bob” McClanahan of Festus will be held from 3-7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 11, 2022 at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 316 N. Adams St., in Festus.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus.
