COVID-19 cases are down in Missouri, and locally

JEFFERSON CITY — The number of new COVID-19 cases has fallen in Missouri and locally, in the past week.

 

According to figures from the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, the number of confirmed and probable cases for the seven days ending January 25th was 62,345, which is down 23 percent from the 80,730 cases reported during the seven days ending January 18.

 

In Perry County there were 228 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 during the seven days ending January 25th. That is a seven percent drop from the 245 cases reported in the seven days ending January 18.

 

In Ste. Genevieve County there were 140 new confirmed and probable cases of COVID-19 during the seven days ending January 25. That is a 27 percent drop from the 192 cases reported in the seven days ending January 18.

 

The Department of Health and Human Services reports the state vaccination rate is 55.2 percent. Perry County is 40 percent vaccinated and Ste. Genevieve County is 46.2 percent vaccinated.
