A funeral will be held Thursday, January 27, 2022 for 80-year-old Nancy Sue Berkbuegler of Friedheim, Mo. who passed away Friday, January 21, 2022 at the Independence Care Center of Perry County Perryville, Mo.
She was born March 14, 1941 in Perryville, the daughter of Weldon Andrew and Helen Bernice (Sander) Balsman who both preceded her in death.
Nancy and Arley Berkbuegler were married April 23, 1960 at Assumption Catholic Church, Perryville. He survives in Friedheim.
Survivors also include a daughter and three sons: Laura (Rocky) Schumer of Perryville, Mo.; Timothy Berkbuegler of Friedheim, Mo., Craig (Trudy) Berkbuegler of Festus, Mo., and Terry (Shannan) Berkbuegler of Chicago, Ill.; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three brothers and four sisters: Larry Balsman of Miami, Fla., Tom (Nancy) Balsman of Atlanta, Ga.; Mary Beth Kaempfe of Ballwin, Mo.; Sharon Balsman of St. Louis, Mo.; Steve (Kathy) Balsman of Memphis, Tenn.; Jan (Mike) Keefe of Fort Collins, Colo., and Deb (Tom) Vaeth of St. Mary, Mo.
She was also preceded in death a sister-in-law: Ana Mae Balsman; and a brother-in-law, Lloyd Kaempfe.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, in Perryville, Mo.
She was a secretary at various local businesses and lastly she was manager at McDonalds restaurant for 20 years.
Nancy was instrumental in beginning of praying the Rosary on Mondays at St. Mary of the Barrens Catholic Church.
Nancy loved fishing, growing flowers, bird watching, playing Scrabble and the dulcimer.
She especially enjoyed playing with her grandchildren and making meals for family gatherings on Sundays.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, January 26, 2022 and 8-9:30 a.m. Thursday, January 27, 2022 with the Rosary at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at Ford and Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
A funeral mass for 80-year-old Nancy Sue Berkbuegler of Friedheim will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday January 27 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville with the Rev. Joe Geders C.M. officiating.
Entombment will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery Mausoleum in Perryville.
