STE. GENEVIEVE — Maria Kemper has been named the Ste. Genevieve High School Rotary Student of the Month for January.
Maria is the daughter of Tracy and Daniel Kemper.
Maria’s scholastic honors include: being ranked in the top 15 percent of her class and earning A Honor Roll each semester. She earned the designation of Summa Cum Laude in the 2020-21 school year.
She has been involved in her class as an active member of the varsity Scholar Bowl team and French Club. Maria has also been active in SADD, FCCLA, Dragon’s Lair Productions, National Honor Society, Gaming Club, and National Art Honor Society. During her time in FCCLA, she has placed in multiple STAR events.
Maria works for the Felix Valle’ House as a seasonal employee.
In her free time, Maria enjoys drawing and painting. She also enjoys playing video games, writing, reading, and volunteering at the Ste. Genevieve Museum Learning Center, where she archives the contents of the collections in the basement.
Maria plans to attend The School of Art Institute of Chicago or Webster University and major in Art. She hopes to own her own studio to sell art.
