A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2022 for 92-year-old Mildred Helen Amschler of Chester, Illinois, who was called home to Jesus at 5:10 pm, Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at Coulterville Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, Coulterville, Illinois. She rests from the afflictions of this life and enjoys the company of God, His saints and the angels. Mildred will accompany Jesus on the day of His return and the resurrection of the dead.
She was born December 28, 1929 in Wittenburg, Mo. to Louise and Moses Kraft who both preceded her in death.
Mildred was baptized on January 6, 1930.
She was adopted on October 4, 1934 by Bertha and Henry Heinemann of Chester, Illinois.
Mildred was confirmed on April 2, 1944 at St. John Lutheran Church in Chester by Rev. H.C. Schreck.
Mildred married Marvin Amschler of Jacob, Illinois on September 17, 1949 at St. John Lutheran Church; he preceded her in death on April 23, 2011.
She was a faithful member of St. John Lutheran Church. Mildred had served as a Sunday School teacher and was a member of the P.T.L. for 21 years. She then became a member of the L.W.M.L. Mildred was a homemaker.
She is survived by three daughters: Brenda G. Davison of Chester, Linda J. (Ray) Kaaz of Red Bud, Ill., and Joan M. (Craig) Campbell of Shiloh, Ill.; a half-sister: Irene Groeneman; five grandchildren: Christy Otten, Michelle (Billy) Lueth, Stacy Mathis, Colin Campbell and Katelyn Campbell; three great grandchildren: Jazzie Meredith, Jordan Meredith and Emily Lueth.
She was also preceded in death by two grandsons: Patrick Robert Otten and John Michael Otten, two sisters: Ruby Kraft and Dorothy Hines, two brothers: Leonard Kraft and Richard Kraft, a half-brother: Raymond Kraft and a half-sister: Lillian Huber.
Visitation will be 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the St. John Lutheran Church, in Chester.
A memorial service for 92-year-old Mildred Helen Amschler of Chester will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Chester. The Rev. Timothy Sims will officiate.
Inurnment will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Chester.
