Contact Tracing Process Update: If you or a family member test positive for CoVID-19 please remain isolated/quarantined until you are contacted by the Illinois Department of Health Surge Center. Currently there is a delay in receiving cases, at times, up to four days after testing before the case is received.

As of Thursday, January 13th, the Illinois Department of Public Health Surge Center will be assuming all contact tracing and case investigation responsibilities.

The Surge Center will utilize an automated system to reduce the number of incoming\outgoing calls to and from the Surge center as well as Local Health Departments.

Moving forward any correspondence will need to be requested from the Illinois Department of Public Health Surge Center.

Positive Covid-19 cases will receive an automated message asking you to participate, if you do not participate, “Opt-In”, you will not receive any communication or correspondence.

Those utilizing home tests should also be aware of precautions to take and should be taking them. You have the tools to prevent severe illness which include vaccination, boosters, masking, social distancing, handwashing, and disinfection.

“I am very proud of the staff’s efforts and the community partnerships we have gained during the pandemic. We will provide information as recommendations are updated and continue to serve the residents of the county to the best of our ability as we move forward,” stated Director Angela Oathout.
