JEFFERSON CITY — The number of new COVID-19 cases in Missouri continues to rise according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services.
The seven-day total of confirmed and probable cases for the period ending January 9 was 74,927 an 11 percent increase over the 67,373 reported on January 7.
The average number of confirmed and probable cases per day was around 10,704.
The number of confirmed and probable deaths during the period was 34.
The vaccination rate in Missouri is 54.4 percent for those who have completed the vaccination series.
Perry County had 134 confirmed and probable cases for the week ending January 9th, 17 percent higher than the seven days ending January 7th.
That’s a daily average of 19 new cases a day.
There were no deaths during the period.
The vaccination rate in Perry County is 39.7 percent.
Ste. Genevieve County had 158 new confirmed and probable cases during the seven days ending January 9th, a 13 percent increase over the seven days ending January 7. That’s an average of 23 new cases a day.
The vaccination rate in Ste. Genevieve County 45.5 percent.
