Contact Tracing Process Update: If you or a family member test positive for CoVID-19 please remain isolated/quarantined until a Contact Tracer has an opportunity to reach out to you. The goal is to reach new cases within 24 hours of notification which may vary depending on the daily caseload. Currently there is a delay in receiving case, at time, up to four days after testing before we are notified of a positive case.

**Please do not call the health department as we will try to reach out as soon as possible to discuss your case**

As of January 13th, the Illinois Department of Public Health Surge Center will be assuming all contact tracing and case investigation responsibilities. The Surge Center will utilize an automated system to reduce the number of incoming\outgoing calls to and from the Surge center as well as Local Health Departments. Moving forward any correspondence will need to be requested from the Illinois Department of Public Health Surge Center.

Positive Covid-19 cases will receive an automated message asking you to participate, if you do not participate, “Opt-In”, you will not receive any communication or correspondence.

The Randolph County Health Department will not issue any correspondence\letters as we will relinquish case investigation\contact tracing and rely on the centralized system. The Surge Center will be taking over all calls, if your call is delayed or you fail to receive a call please follow the current isolation and quarantine guidelines and remain home.

You have the ability to identify what to do so please follow recommendations to protect yourself and others. Those utilizing home tests should also be aware of precautions to take and should be taking them.

You have the tools to prevent severe illness which include vaccination, boosters, masking, social distancing, handwashing, and disinfection.

“The Randolph County Health Department has worked tirelessly to keep the community informed throughout the pandemic and stepped up and stood during the most difficult of circumstances,” Director Angela Oathout stated “I am very proud of the staff’s efforts and the community partnerships we have gained during the pandemic. We will provide information as recommendations are updated and continue to serve the residents of the county to the best of our ability as we move forward.”
