MODHSS reports COVID-19 numbers

JEFFERSON CITY — The number of new COVID-19 cases in Missouri rose around 15 percent between January 2nd and January 4th according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Service.

 

The seven day total of confirmed and probable cases for the period ending January 4 January was 59,308 an increase of about 15 percent over the seven days ending January 2.

 

The average number of confirmed and probable cases per day was around 8,472.

 

The number of confirmed and probable deaths during the period was 37.

 

The vaccination rate in Missouri is 54.1 percent for those who have completed the vaccination series.

 

Perry County had 133 confirmed and probable cases for the week ending January 4th, nearly 20 percent higher than the seven days ending January 2nd.

 

That’s a daily average of 19 new cases a day. There were 33 new cases January 3rd.

 

There were no deaths during the period.

 

The vaccination rate in Perry County is 39.5 percent.

 

Ste. Genevieve County had 108 new confirmed and probable cases during the seven days ending January 4th, a 44 percent increase over the seven days ending January 2. That’s an average of 15 new cases a day. There were 41 new cases January 3rd. There was one additional death, on January 1st.

 

The vaccination rate in Ste. Genevieve County 45.4 percent.
