JEFFERSON CITY — The number of new COVID-19 cases in Missouri rose around 18 percent between December 31st and January 2nd according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Service.
The seven day total of confirmed and probable cases for the period ending January 2nd was 51,411, an increase of 7,681 cases or about 18 percent higher than the seven days ending December 31st.
The average number of confirmed and probable cases per day was around 7,344.
The number of confirmed and probable deaths during the period was 23.
The vaccination rate in Missouri is 54.0 percent for those who have completed the vaccination series.
Perry County had 111 new confirmed and probable cases for the week ending January 2nd, an increase of 33 or more than 42 percent higher than the seven days ending December 31st.
That’s a daily average of 16 new cases a day.
There were 26 new confirmed cases on December 29th, 20 on December 30th and 28th and 19 on December 27th.
There were no deaths during the period.
The vaccination rate in Perry County is 39.5 percent.
Ste. Genevieve County had 75 new confirmed and probable cases during the seven days ending January 2nd, an eight percent increase over the seven days ending December 31st. That’s an average of 11 new cases a day.
There were 17 new cases December 27 and 28, and 15 new cases December 29,
There were no deaths during the period.
The vaccination rate in Ste. Genevieve County was 45.4 percent.
