JEFFERSON CITY — The number of new COVID-19 cases in Missouri rose nearly 30 percent between December 25th and 27th according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Service.
The seven day total of confirmed and probable cases for the period ending December 27 was 28,227, an increase of 6,145 cases or about 28 percent higher than the seven days ending December 25th.
The average number of confirmed and probable cases per day was around 4,032.
The number of confirmed and probable deaths during the period was 29.
The vaccination rate in Missouri is 53.7 percent for those who have completed the vaccination series.
Perry County had 52 confirmed and probable cases for the week ending December 27, a 16 percent increase compared with the seven days ending December 25th.
That’s a daily average of 7.5 new cases a day.
There were 18 new confirmed cases on December 27th alone.
There were no deaths during the period.
The vaccination rate in Perry County is 39.3 percent.
Ste. Genevieve County had 58 new confirmed and probable cases during the seven days ending December 27th, a 35 percent increase over the seven days ending December 25th.
That’s an average of 8.3 new cases a day.
There were 10 new cases December 26 and 16 on December 27th.
There were no deaths during the period.
The vaccination rate in Ste. Genevieve County is 45.1 percent.
