Billie Jean Huck

A funeral will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021 for 80-year-old Billie Jean Huck of Festus who passed away Saturday, December 25, 2021, at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Crystal City.

She was born December 22, 1941, in Flat River, the daughter of Robert and Nellie (Westbrook) Kennedy who both preceded her in death.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years: Duane “Duke” Huck of Festus, whom she married Oct. 29, 1960, at St. Agnes Catholic Church; 10 children: Mark (June) Huck of Ste. Genevieve, Aaron Huck of Festus, Chris Huck of Festus, Lisa (Mike) Lennette of Eureka, Constance Radin of Festus, Melody (Dale) McDowell of Farmington, Virginia (Stacy) Landress of Avon Park, Fla., Stephanie Crocker of Lakeland, Fla., Barbara (Enzo) Stefano of Festus and Pauline (Jamie) Recar of Festus; two brothers: Steven Kennedy of Fenton and Charlie (Phyllis) Kennedy of Ste. Genevieve; four sisters: Janet Skaggs of Herculaneum, Barb Brandt of De Soto, Joanne Robinson of Bloomsdale and Sue (Jerry) Bates of Festus; a sister-in-law: Karen Kennedy of Farmington; 18 grandchildren: Tom Huck, Jonni Huck, Amber Massa-Faber, Danielle Massa, Jacob Massa, Sarah Pogue, Lia Neeley, Dawn Herbert, Shawn Herbert, Crystal Crocker, Nicole Schlemmer, Kaitlyn Crocker, Delaney Crocker, Tyler Recar, Lindsay Recar, Zach Landress, Cambrie Landress and Lydia Lennett; 14 great-grandchildren: Haleigh Usher, Jayden Pogue, Jacob Coale, Grace Neeley, Kylie Kinnard, Austin Kinnard, Mason Campbell, Logan Campbell, Kayla Campbell, Roman Ronzio, Lucas Mitchell, Lexi Mitchell, Rosalyn Recar and Arra Recar; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers: Robert “Butch” Kennedy Jr., and Ralph Kennedy; a sister-in-law: Faye Kennedy; and three brothers-in-law: Sonny Akins, John Skaggs and Jerry Brandt.

Mrs. Huck was a homemaker and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Crystal City. She was an avid reader and enjoyed going to bingo, taking walks, doing crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.

Visitation is scheduled from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Mahn Twin City Chapel, 515 Collins Drive, in Festus.

A funeral mass for 80-year-old Billie Jean Huck of Festus will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City.

Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Arrangements are under the direction of Mahn Twin City Chapel.
