Larry H. Ebers

A funeral will be held Thursday, December 30, 2021 for 71-year-old Larry H. Ebers of Red Bud, Illinois, who passed away at 8:10 am, Sunday, December 26, 2021 at St. Luke’s DesPeresHospital, St. Louis, Mo.

 

He was born May 2, 1950 in Chester, Ill., the son of Harold and Virginia (nee Mayer) Ebers who both preceded him in death.

 

He married Cindy Voss Falkenhain July 25, 2004 at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church in Steeleville, Illinois; she survives in Red Bud.

 

He is also survived by three sons: Brian Ebers of O’Fallon, Mo., Joshua (Gail) Ebers of  Jacksonville, N.C., and Adam (Mycah) Ebers of Belleville, Ill.; three step children: Steven (Amanda) Falkenhain of Red Bud, Ill., Crystal (Dustin) Liefer of Red Bud, Ill., and Byron (Jennifer) Falkenhain of Red Bud, Ill.; a brother: Jim (Cindy) Ebers of Concordia, Mo.; a sister-in-law: Donna Ebers of Rio Rancho, N.M.; five grandchildren:

Chase Ebers, Nicholas Ebers, Amanda Ebers, Bailey Watson and Waylynn Ebers; six step grandchildren: Griffin, Dylan, Madison, Payton, Elsie and Maybre; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

 

He was also preceded in death by a brother: Rick Ebers

 

Larry had worked as a coal miner for Arch Mineral in Willisville for 26 years. He also did a lot of carpenter work alongside of his father for many years.

 

He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Red Bud, Illinois. He was a very skillful painter and many of his painting hang in area churches. He also loved making paintings for family and friends.

 

He was also very active at St. Mark Lutheran Church and School in Steeleville in his earlier years.

 

He coached many Khoury League teams in Steeleville through the year.

 

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021 and noon-2 p.m. Thursday, December 30, 2021 at the St. John Lutheran Church in Red Bud, Ill.

 

A funeral for 71-year-old Larry H. Ebers of Red Bud, Illinois will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 30, 2021 at St. John Lutheran Church in Red Bud, Ill. The Rev. Mark Nebel will officiate.

 

Interment will be in the St. John Lutheran Cemetery in Red Bud, Ill.

 

Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church in Red Bud, Ill. or St. Mark’s Lutheran School in Steeleville, Ill.
