A funeral will be held Wednesday, December 29, 2021 for 91-year-old JoAnn E. Davis, of Ironton, Mo., formerly of Ellis Grove, Ill., who passed away at 7:15 pm, Friday, December 24, 2021 at The Baptist Home-Arcadia Valley, Ironton, Missouri.
She was born December 28, 1929, the daughter of Paul and Mary (nee Parker) Eaton in St. Louis, Mo. They preceded her in death.
JoAnn married James “Bill” W. Davis, Jr. June 19, 1969 in Ellis Grove, Illinois; he survives.
She is also survived by five children: Paul (Kathy) Rogers of Mocksville, N.C., Suzanne Mollet of Prairie du Rocher, Ill., Leah Ann (Jim) Donjon of Evansville, Ill., John (Bob Kovacs) Davis of Monterey, Calif., and Chester Davis of Davenport, Iowa; seven grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.
He was also preceded in Death by: a brother: Parker Eaton and two grandchildren: Cletus James Donjon III and Joseph Mollett, Jr.
She graduated from St. Louis City Nursing Program and worked as a registered nurse in multiple hospitals and home health for 40 years.
JoAnn was a member of First Baptist Church in Ellis Grove, Illinois before moving their membership to Ironton, Missouri.
She was also a member of the Home Extension for 25 years and the Women’s Missionary Union.
She was a Master Gardener and also served as a boy and girl scout leader.
JoAnn also enjoyed quilting and loved to spend time with family and grandchildren.
She was a Korean War Air Force veteran and was a captain for four years.
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at the Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester, Ill.
