Regular Meeting Minutes

 

Call to Order at 6:00 pm

 

Roll Call: Commissioners Casey Benner, Nicole Boyer, Mark Buchheit, Thomas Hooper, Frank Myers, and Aldermanic Liaison Gary Smith were present. Additionally, Community Development Administrator David Bova was present.

 

Approval of Agenda: Commissioner Buchheit made a Motion to approve the Agenda as presented. Commissioner Boyer seconded the motion, which passed 5-0. Approval of Minutes: Commissioner Buchheit made a motion to approve the minutes from the November 15, 2021 meeting as presented. Commissioner Boyer seconded the motion, which passed 5-0.

 

Introduction of Evidence: Mr. Bova asked that the Commission approve the entry into the record of the Ste. Genevieve Municipal Code, the Design Guidelines for the Sainte Genevieve National Register Historic District, and the relevant staff report and additional information for the project. Commissioner Boyer made a Motion to accept the evidence into the record. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Hooper and passed 5-0.

 

Old Business:

  • Mr. Bova gave a brief update on the two 2022 Historic Preservation Fund grant applications. There have been no updates from SHPO this past month.

 

New Business:

  • SGHC006-22. To receive a Certificate of Appropriateness to construct a 179SF deck on the rear of the structure at 118 N 5th Street. The applicant, Mr. Steve Wallen, was unable to attend. Mr. Bova described the request and answered some questions from the commission. Commissioner Boyer made a Motion to Approve the application which was seconded by Commissioner Hooper and passed 4-1 with Commissioner Myers voting against.

 

  • SGHC007-22. To receive a Certificate of Appropriateness to construct a wooden fence in the rear yard at 502 N 3rd Street. The applicant, Mr. Jason Stackle was present; he discussed his request and answered some questions from the commission. Commissioner Buchheit made a Motion to Approve the application which was seconded by Commissioner Boyer and passed 5-0.

 

Administrative Approvals:

 

Mr. Bova discussed the following:

 

  • SGHC003-22. To receive a Certificate of Appropriateness to replace architectural shingles with new architectural shingles on the structure at 606 LaHaye.

 

  • SGHC004-22. To receive a Certificate of Appropriateness to demolish the detached garage in the rear yard at 737 N 4th Street.

 

  • SGHC005-22. To receive a Certificate of Appropriateness to demolish the mobile home structure at 299 Washington Street.

Meeting Adjourned: There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:14 pm.
