Ray Varner Brown

A funeral will be held Saturday, December 18, 2021 for 84-year-old Ray Varner Brown of Saint Mary, Mo. who passed away Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Riverview at the Park Care and Rehabilitation Center. 

He was born July 4, 1937 in St. Mary, Mo., the son of Jennings Brown and Flora Brown who both preceded him in death.

He married Cleta (Brewster) Brown July 4, 1956. She preceded him in death.

He is survived by a daughter: Gail (Sonny) Palmer of St. Mary; three sons: Randy (Daneile) Brown of Owassa, Okla., Kirk (Denise) Brown of Saint Mary, and Trent (Carla) Brown of St. Mary; three brothers: William (Wanda) Brown of Kansas City, Mo., Charlie Brown of El Paso, Tex., and Burton (Sonja) Brown of St. Mary; grandchildren: Braden (Torie) Palmer, Landon (Erica) Palmer, Caleb (Amanda) Brown, Chelsea (Drew) Deibel, Randa Earle, Kaysee (Greg) Adams, Bart (Amber) Brown, Tessa (Timmy) Lurk, Taylor Brown and Ty Brown; and 23 great grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a brother: Tom (Mary) Brown; a sister: Beulah Mae Wingerter; and a sister-in-law: Dorothy Brown.

He was a deacon at Saline Baptist Church.

Ray was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.

He loved sitting on the porch drinking mom’s sweet tea, watching westerns, and eating at Cracker Barrel.

His favorite things in life were spending time with family and friends, but most of all he loved Jesus.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Saline Baptist Church in Saint Mary.

A funeral for 84-year-old Ray Varner Brown of Saint Mary will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021. The Rev. Steve Berry will officiate.

Burial will be at Brown Family Farm Cemetery.
