Filing begins for the April municipal and school election

STE GENEVIEVE — Tuesday was the first day for candidates to file for the municipal and school election in April.

Two incumbent Ste. Genevieve Board of Aldermen members filed for re-election on the first day: Joe Prince in Ward 4 and Robert Donovan in Ward 2.

Three newcomers filed for seats on the Ste. Genevieve R-II Board of Education: Jamie Ballew and Michael Stoll Tuesday and one more filed on Wednesday, Larry Pfaff.

There is already a race for Perryville mayor. The incumbent, Ken Baer and a challenger, Larry Riney, both filed Tuesday.

There were four other filings Tuesday, all incumbents seeking re-election: Direk L. Hunt for City Marshal, Tom Guth for Alderman Ward 1, Curt Buerck for Alderman Ward 2, Prince E. Hudson for Alderman Ward 3.

The filings from Perry County School District No. 32 were not available this morning.

Filing ends at 5 p.m. December 28.
