The Basler Funeral Home has announced the passing of 67-year-old John V. Rector of Bloomsdale, Mo. on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at his home.
He was born March 14, 1954 in St. Louis, Mo., the son of Ralph Rector, who preceded him in death, and Betty Lou Rector, who survives in Hillsboro, Mo.
He married Christine (Dillabough) Rector June 25, 1976. She survives in Bloomsdale.
He is also survived by two daughters: Paula (Matthew Martin) Rector of Sainte Genevieve, Mo. and Lindsay (Tarik) Menkovic of De Soto, Mo.; a son: Lucas (Amber) Rector of Festus, Mo., a sister: Virginia (Don) Klingensmith of Mount Joy, Penn.; three brothers: James (Sally) Rector of Hillsboro, Mo., Eldon (Shannon) Rector of St. Charles, Mo. and Wayne (Shea) Rector of St. Louis, Mo.; six grandchildren: Courtney, William, Matthew, Lucas, Alyssa, and Billie.
John was a great man. He had no idea how great he was. He had a heart of gold and was very humble. John never hesitated to help anyone. He had a love for the land and farming. John loved and cared for his tractors and cattle.
John’s body was donated to Washington University School of Medicine.
