STE. GENEVIEVE – For the 11th year, the Holcim Ste. Genevieve plant will be holding a waste collection and recycling day for the community on Saturday, December 11, 2021.
This event offers community residents a safe and convenient way to manage a variety of household hazardous waste items and electronics suitable for recycling but not permitted in the regular or recycling disposal process. It is being held in partnership with the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, several recycling vendors, and the Ste. Genevieve Recycling Center.
“Continuing the tradition of a community recycling day brings community together working towards a common goal of keeping hazardous materials out of landfills,” said Holcim Ste. Genevieve Plant Manager, Fernando Valencia. “We are proud to partner with our employees, community residents, the MDNR, Ste. Genevieve County and companies who share our aim to preserve the environment for generations to come.”
Items can be dropped off on December 11, 2021 at the Ste. Genevieve Recycling Center located at 17690 U.S. Highway 61 between 8 am and noon.
Household materials such as acids, aerosols, antifreeze, batteries, chemicals, cleaning fluids/polishes, herbicides/insecticides/pesticides, painting products, used motor oil and much more will be accepted. Electronic waste such as computers, appliances, televisions, etc. can also be dropped off, and Holcim will cover the collection fee for the first television or monitor per household. Additional televisions or monitors may be dropped off but are subject to a fee per item to be paid by cash to the recycling vendor.
