District 32 says it will not vaccinate students

PERRYVILLE – Perry County School District No. 32 has issued a statement regarding incorrect information circulating in the community.

“This statement is being issued in response to incorrect information being circulated this morning in our community regarding public schools, students and vaccinations:

Perry County School District 32 will never vaccinate your child; we’re a school, not a medical facility.

“The shared post also is wrong when it states that any medical release you’ve signed for a student attending our schools allows the district to administer ANY vaccine to your child.

There is NO NEED to call or email your school office, nurse or teacher to take your child’s name off of this imaginary “vaccination list.”

“At this time, the District has no vaccination clinics of any kind scheduled to be held on campus. (We did offer a voluntary staff flu vaccination clinic through Perry County Health Department last month, as we have every year.)

“In the event that Perry County School District 32 would partner with Perry County Health Department to provide a safe place for community members – including eligible students – to voluntarily receive vaccinations, that information will be shared well in advance to allow our parents and caregivers the choice to participate or not.
