STE. GENEVIEVE — Members of the Ste. Genevieve High School chapter of Family, Career, and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) recently attended the Region 6 Conference in Cape Girardeau.

According to a news release, the students networked with members from chapters across Missouri’s Region 6, and learned of new opportunities available through membership in FCCLA.
The keynote speakers were Penny Lorenz Anderson and Chad of ThinkFirst Missouri.
The two shared their stories of vehicle crashes and encouraged the attendees to make wise driving decisions.
While at the conference, the group also collected over $340 to donate to the Southeast Missouri Violence Council, and the same amount to the Women’s Safe House in Cape Girardeau.
Christy Clark, board member for the Southeast Missouri Violence Council, accepts the donation from regional officers Emma K. and Drew Newman.
Regional President Drew Newman and Regional Secretary Emma K. worked with the rest of the regional officer team to plan and lead the conference.
