JEFFERSON CITY — An 18-year-old woman from Charleston, Mo. suffered minor injuries in a traffic crash on I-55 in Perry County Thursday night.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports Zah’niyiah M. Ellis was taken to Perry County Memorial Hospital by ambulance.
The patrol says Ellis was the driver of a southbound 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt when she fell asleep. The car ran off the right side of the roadway, Ellis over-corrected and the car returned to the roadway and ran off the left side of the roadway and struck the median cable barrier.
The crash happened about 11:15 p.m. at mile marker 120.4.
There was extensive damage to the Cobalt.
