COLUMBIA – Missouri REALTORS® is pleased to share with you a monthly statistics report highlighting the Missouri real estate market for the month of September, including quarterly results.
In the month of September, Missouri REALTORS® sold 9,020 residential properties. Of those sales, the average residential property sold for $265,715. Compared to the average sale price of $237,477 in September of 2020, there was an 11.9% increase. The median residential sale price also grew substantially, from $199,000 in 2020 to $225,000 in 2021.
In terms of total dollar volume, Missouri REALTORS® saw an increase of 15.3%. Over 2.3 billion dollars in September 2021 was generated compared to 2 billion dollars for the same period last year.
Regarding third-quarter results, 27,801 residential properties sold in Missouri from July to September. The total quarterly sales volume topped 7.4 billion dollars, and homes sold at an increased pace during the third quarter of 2021, staying on the market for 25 days. That is 19 days less compared to the same three-month period last year. The median sales price for the third quarter increased 13.9 percent compared to the same period in 2020, coming in at $225,000.
