PERRYVILLE — Thirteen members of the Perryville High School Chamber Choir were selected to participate in Quad State Choral Festival in November.

“Our students were chosen from approximately 500 auditions sent in from over four states and will travel to Murray State University to spend two full days rehearsing baroque choral music with other selected members,” said PHS Vocal Music Director Taylor Davis.

The students are Kiara Brown, Tyson Wilkerson, Sonora Bishop, Noah Bergman, Phebe Dunker, Xavier Pfaff, Eleanor Maxwell, Sten Barber, Katelynn Starr, Samuel Camarillo, Madison Krauss, Brandon Martin,  and Rosemarie Baker-Mosley.

The Quad State High School Honor Choir will be held on the campus of Murray State University on November 7-8.

“We will be studying and performing a wonderful set of Baroque music, Go for Baroque, with a chamber orchestra,” said Dr. Bradley Almquist, music professor and director of choral activities at MSU. “The repertoire includes selections from Come, Ye Sons of Art by Henry Purcell, Jesus Joy of Man’s Desiring (sung in German) from Cantata 147 by J. S. Bach, Ave Maria by Gulio Caccini and selections from Vivaldi’s Gloria.”
